Speaker: Fujita Yoshihisa (Professor, Center for General Education, Okinawa Prefectural University of Art)
The giant hermit crab is a creature that has not received much attention in Okinawa, probably because it is too familiar, but they are very interesting biologically. A lecturer who has been researching Okinawan crustaceans, including giant hermit crabs for many years, talks about the ecology of red hermit crabs. I will also introduce the relationship between the coastal environment, which has become a hot topic in recent years due to microplastics, etc., and octopus crabs.
